A benevolent Wizard King conquered the known world.

The first Druids birthed a new kind of life, but rejected the Things That Live in Vats, which fell into the service of the Alchemist. The Spell of Uplifting that was used to create them became one of the oldest kinds of forbidden magic.

This Age ended when the corruption and madness of the Wizard King continued past his death, and he became the Lich King. The degree of danger his undead servants pose has varied through the Ages, as his sanity waxed and waned.
