The Diabolist - mlichtenstein/13thAgeSK GitHub Wiki

The Diabolist commands the loyalty of a small army of solar demons, which are occasionally loaned out to their more ambitious cults. They've also been known to elaborately prank their various followers, sometimes fatally. (The demons respond well to this treatment.)

They will make lavish promises to cult leaders, to be granted in exchange for steep recruitment goals. They also despise people who are willing to go along with this, and inevitably find some horrific way to ironically fulfill the bargain, which usually sweeps up the mooks who recently chose to join a cult as well. Petard-hoists, violent tragedy, and slapstick with deadly objects all suit their tastes.

To be frank, cults are excellent luck sinks, and the Diabolist has every kind. But given their mercurial temperament, it is difficult to know if they have any grand schemes beyond their own perpetual glorification and amusement. Some things they pull off seem to require incredibly elaborate setups for purely symbolic gains. A show, but who's watching?

Investiture

Scions of the Diabolist have been known to surface at times, bearing one or another of their progenitor's powers of deceit or burning light. The Diabolist appears to care for them in her particular way (at the present moment), and whichever one survives their inevitable rebellion, will then replace her.

The Diabolist's loyalty to former allies unknown, against her own mother, is exactly as reliable as her other commitments.
