The ancient conquerer who eventually became the terrible Lich King. While the tales of the benevolence of the Wizard King might be an exaggeration, tales of his arcane prowess are probably not. Wards he emplaced still protect the known world from a variety of magical and mundane threats, and the turning of more than one Age was presaged by their failure.

There are scholars who claim, based on existing artifacts and intact spellwork from the First Age, that the Wizard King must have been more than a mortal conquerer. Theories as to his possible identity vary, but a mask of the God of Death remains a popular one.
