The wooden vat is a large 3x3 open container that can store up to 32 buckets of any fluid. They are the primary means for creating the various juices and alcoholic worts available within Psychedelicraft.
Vats are also able to ferment worts into alcoholic beverages by leaving it in them for extended periods of time.

Begin by placing the wooden vat down on a flat surface. It requires at minimum a 3x3 (9 block) area to place.
To create a wort or juice, the vat first has to be filled with water. To fill the vat with water, interact (right-click) it with a bucket to deposit water into it directly, or with an empty hand to open the vat and fill it using the GUI. Any amount of water works, however for the maximum return you're recommended to make sure the vat is completely full.
Once the vat is prepared, you can begin creating the wort by sneak right-clicking the vat with the ingredients to use. Once the numberof added ingredients reaches the desired amount (commonly 8), the vat will react and after a few seconds the water will convert into the wart corresponding to the items inserted into it.
Note
If you add the wrong ingredients, or mess up the recipe, conversion will fail and result in a "bad batch", or Slurry instead.

Fermentation is the first step of the alcohol production process and comes immediately after producing a wort/juice. It is the fermentation that converts the sugars in the wort into alcohol and is typically required before moving on to either the distillation or maturation processes.
Every beverage starts off as a wort and any wort left in a vat will slowly ferment over time. During the process, depending on the type of fluid you may get some type of wash. Some fluids will produce a half-wash or a wash depending on the amount of time spent fermenting, whilst others may skip either of these stages and produce beer or eventually turn into vinegar.
If you let your alcohol ferment in the open for too long, after it has formed a wash, it will begin to acetify. This turns the alcohol into a generally undesirable vinegar.
