Lattices are a type of connecting wall block made out of wood. They can be used for decoration purposes or for farming certain plants such as Wine Grapes or Morning Glory.

Lattices drop themselves and the seeds of whichever plant is growing on them when broken. As they are made of woode, they can also be mined faster by using an axe of any kind.

To place a lattice, use the lattice's item on a block facing the space it should occupy. The lattice will orient itself to face the player and connect to any adjacent lattices in the same manner as a wooden fence

Wine Grapes can be planted on a lattice directly by right-clicking it with the item. Morning Glory will spread onto a lattice block if it is planted next to one.

When there are plants growing on the lattice, it will go through a few stages of growth starting with no leaves and ending with a thick layer of leaves resembling a hedge. When it is fully-grown crops can be gathered from the lattice by right-clicking it with shears.

Once harvested the lattice will return to its initial growth stage. To completely remove the plant from the lattice, you have to completely break and place the lattice.

In Minecraft 1.7.10 and prior versions the lattice used an alternate crafting recipe.
