Agave is a spiked succulent that can be found growing in dry regions such as deserts and badlands, and rarely scattered around desert villages in the place of cactuses.

Agave grows in small patches scattered across deserts and badland areas and will typically only grow on sand. It can also appear in desert villages between buildings or along-side the road.

Because of their spikey nature, Agave plants will typically deal damage to any entities that walk on or touch them, much like berry bushes. To avoid taking damage, players should have a tool equipped in their main hand when they mine the plant.

Breaking an agave plant does not mine it, and so you will typically not receive anything when doing so.

Agave plants can be sheared to obtain agave leaves. Each time the plant is sheared it will drop one leaf and become smaller. The smallest an agave plant can become is age 0, at which point you can no longer shear the plant and will have to wait for it to grow before you can gather more.

As with all succulents, Agave plants can be replanted by using the agave leaf on any solid block.

Agave leaves can be combined with water in a Wooden Vat to produce agave juice, which can then be distilled and fermented to produce tequila.
