Frequently Asked Questions: Glenmoril - Omni-guides/Tuxborn GitHub Wiki
Glenmoril will auto-launch once you reach level 30, and you go to the main gate of Falkreath. You'll see a little girl you'll have to help, and you'll get an objective to talk to an NPC named Brandt.
Glenmoril was originally written in Japanese, and it's not actually completed yet. So what English voicing is available is AI-generated, yes, using the xVASynth tool.
The same team that's done English voicing acting for Vigilant and Unslaad has said they'll also do Glenmoril once it's finished.
Correct. Act 4 is not done yet. If you don't like the idea of playing an unfinished mod (or a mod that uses AI for its voices), you may want to sit this one out.
This is by design, it's part of the original mod and how Vicn envisioned them.
We are running Foamimi's mod to overhaul NPC appearances in Glenmoril, but her additional patch to cover the children doesn't apply for our load order, as we aren't running RS Children.
Two: Brandt and Ozwald. However, they are temporary followers, and are only present during certain scenes. Their dialogue is not as extensive as fully custom followers such as Gore or Auri, but they do have reactions to locations specific to the mod.
There are several custom armor sets available with this mod. None of them have any special abilities or enchantments, but they do have very unique looks. So if you're looking for something unusual for your Dragonborn to wear, you might have a look at these.
Details on light armor in Glenmoril...
Armor type | Material to improve | Deconstructable? | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Assassin | Leather | Yes | Close-fitting set in dark gray and ivory. Includes armor, mask, gauntlets, and boots. Main armor piece comes with a cape, so you may or may not want to wear a cloak with this. Possibly suitable for members of the Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood. |
Apostate | Leather | Yes | Only seems to include a mask/hat, but it does count for light armor. |
Aradia's | Ebony | Yes | Also only seems to include a mask/hat, but again, light armor. Witch hat style with a skull mask. |
Ashlander | Chitin Plate | Yes | Close-fitting hood and mask similar to chitin helmets on Solstheim. Comes in two variants, one with a three-part left eyepiece rather than a standard one. |
Beast Hunter | Leather | Yes | Includes coat, boots, gloves, hat, and mask. The coat and boots come in black and brown varieties, the hat is a wide-brimmed hat that sits atop the head, and the mask covers the lower half of the face. |
Black Owl | Leather, Ebony | Yes | Mostly light armor in black and gold. Head piece comes in two variants, a hat and a mask. Back piece is a coffin but appears to function only as armor, rather than a literal coffin. Coffin piece requires ebony to improve, but all other pieces take leather. The leather items can all be deconstructed at a tanning rack. The coffin item can be deconstructed at a smelter, but it gives back firewood, rather than ebony. |
Black Worm | Corundum, Quicksilver | Yes | Necromancer-like light armor set that comes in two variants, regular and silver. The regular version requires corundum to improve, and the silver version requires quicksilver. However, weirdly, both sets deconstruct at a smelter into Refined Moonstone. |
Brethren Hunter | Leather | Yes | Shades of blue, brown, and ivory. Comes with a wide-brimmed hat of a jauntier design than the Beast Hunter one, coat, gloves, and boots. |
Chaplain | Leather, Iron | Yes | Modest light armor set in grays and browns that would befit a religious Dragonborn. Mask is separate from the hood, and comes in two variants, a regular one that works with the hood and an iron one that does not. All pieces can be deconstructed for leather strips at a tanning rack, even the iron mask, even though the iron mask requires iron to improve. |
Chick Trader | Leather | Yes | Looks identical in style to the Witch Hunter set, only in different colors. Includes a cloak, although the cloak clips oddly with the cloak and may not be properly usable.4 |
Chief Assassin | Leather | Yes | Very similar to the Assassin armor in style, just in different colors, brown, cream, and ivory. |
Copper Ardeo | Corundum | Yes | Looks like a giant traffic cone when placed on your head. Requires corundum to improve, but gives back refined moonstone at a smelter. |
Enlarged Head | Human Flesh | Yes | Looks like a giant, goopy brain with a lot of eyeballs poking out of it. Requires Human Flesh to improve, but deconstructs to ebony at a smelter. |
Huntress | Leather | Yes | As with above armor sets, includes hat, coat, gloves, and boots. This one is in shades of black and red with accents of brass, and the hat is a tricorne style. |
Overgrown Crimson Nirnroot | Crimson Nirnroot | Your Magic Resistance is increased by 25%. Your Magicka Regeneration is increased by 50%. Your Magicka is increased by 150.5 | |
Overgrown Nirnroot | Nirnroot | Your Magic Resistance is increased by 25%. Your Health Regeneration is increased by 50%. Your Health is increased by 150.5 | |
Pailune Musketeer | Leather | Yes | Very ornate style. Includes hat/mask, coat, gloves, and boots. The hat and mask are a single piece, so you can't wear one without the other. The mask is a stylized bird face in ivory. |
Witch Hunter | Leather | Yes | Understated in style compared to the other sets, close to Beast Hunter in look, with a long coat, two variants of hat, mask, gloves, and boots. Overall colors are dark gray and tan, with brown leather trim. The mask is another one that covers the lower half of the face. The hat variants are a tricorne and a top hat. |
Yellow | Leather | Yes | Looks to be mostly made of bandages, in shades of bright yellow and purple. Does some very strange distortion of your head. |
General notes:
- Unless an item on this list takes material other than leather to improve, you should be able to deconstruct it at a tanning rack. Otherwise, you will need to use a smelter.
- Depending on what hairstyle you're using, you may see clipping issues with some of the hats. Experimentation is advised to choose the one that looks best with your character.
- Female Dragonborns may find that your chest is noticeably larger when trying these armor sets. Root cause of this appears to be the Glenmoril CBBE patch in our load order.
- Also, given what the chick traders actually are in Glenmoril (i.e., slavers), you may or may not want to wear an armor set named after them. Your call!
- Cannot be disenchanted or enchanted. Gives back ebony if deconstructed at a smelter.
Details on heavy armor in Glenmoril...
Armor type | Material to improve | Smeltable? | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Anequina | Refined Moonstone | Yes | Mostly looks like the Wolf armor set for the Companions, but with a Khajiit-style helmet. You can deconstruct the armor at a smelter, but you will get back steel rather than moonstone. |
Arcane Cage | Iron | Yes | Only includes a "helmet", for values of "helmet" meaning "for some reason you have a literal cage on your head". (May make more actual sense if you run Glenmoril.) Requires iron to improve, but gives back steel when deconstructed at a smelter. |
Ashkan | Chitin Plate | Yes | Looks like a variant of Orcish armor, but with decoration to fit the Ashlander tribes of Morrowind. While the armor requires chitin plate to improve, it smelts down to bone meal at a smelter. |
Champion of Anequina | Refined Moonstone | Yes | Looks like an ebony armor variant, but yields Refined Moonstone if you smelt it down, not ebony. |
Ghost Knight | Steel | Yes | Looks appropriate for religious characters/paladins to use. Armor comes with a regular and a red variant; other pieces are in shades of gray and brown. |
Nord Warrior | Orichalcum | Yes | In shades of green and brown. May be intended for forest-based camouflage? Helmet has a full face mask. Requires orichalcum to improve, but gives back steel if deconstructed at a smelter. |
Details on clothing and jewelry items in Glenmoril...
In addition to a variety of armor sets, there are also some unique clothing and jewelry items you may be interested in:
Clothing type | Enchantable? | Notes |
---|---|---|
Anatomancer's Hood | Yes | Looks like a standard Mage Hood, but comes in three different colors. |
Anequina Mask | Yes | Looks like a standard Redguard turban, but with a beast face mask. Comes in a gold variety (with red turban) and a silver variety (with gray turban). |
Chick Mask | Yes | Literally a sack with eyeholes.1 |
Corrupted Amulet of Stendarr | No | Looks like an Amulet of Stendarr, only colored crimson.2 |
Druidess Mask | Headpiece similar in style to the Helmet of the Old Gods, but with a large skull obscuring most of the face. | |
Druidess Robe | Robe similar in style to the Armor of the Old Gods. | |
Technologist Boots | Yes | Boots to go with the Technologist clothing. |
Technologist Clothing | Yes | A very simple outfit of shirt, vest, and trousers, which might appeal as an alternate to mage robes, if you're a mage. |
Technologist Glasses | No | Come in a gold version and a silver version, and occupy the circlet slot in your gear, so cannot be worn with circlets and helmets, but should be wearable with hoods.2 |
General notes:
- You could wear and/or enchant this, but the question arises, why would you?
- Marked with a red lightning bolt in your inventory, which signifies that this item cannot be disenchanted or enchanted at an enchanter table. No obvious enchantment appears on the item, but it may have a hidden effect when the mod plot is active.
There are a wide variety of weapons available in Glenmoril. Most notably, Glenmoril is one of two mods in Tuxborn that offers guns as potential weapons for the player. The guns come in one- and two-handed varieties, although how they are classed in your inventory depends on the specific gun. See below sections for more details.
Details on one-handed weapons in Glenmoril...
Weapon name | Weapon type | Material to improve | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
9E Histus Sword | Sword | Ebony | Especially effective against dragons. |
9E Histus War Axe | War Axe | Ebony | Especially effective against dragons. |
Aetherium Beam Emitter | Staff | None1 | Target takes 60 points of shock damage per second to Health, and half that to Magicka. Looks like a chonky Dwemer metal pistol, but is classed as a staff in your inventory, even though it is a one-handed weapon. |
Assassin Blade | Sword | Steel | Slightly curved, pointed sword. Stats comparable to Glass swords. |
Assassin Dagger | Dagger | Steel | Very simple dagger. |
Alduin's Claw | Dagger | Dragon Scales | Target bleeds for 20 points.2 |
Alduin's Fang | Sword | Dragon Scales | Target bleeds for 25 points.2 |
General notes:
- Since Glenmoril is treating this as a staff, by definition it can't be improved, since the base game does not allow for improvements to staves. Similarly, it cannot be deconstructed.
- Gives back Dragon Bone when deconstructed at a smelter, even though it requires Dragon Scales to improve.
Details on two-handed weapons in Glenmoril...
Weapon name | Weapon type | Material to improve | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Alduin's Greatfang | Greatsword | Refined Moonstone | Target bleeds for 30 points.1 |
Anequina Great Scimitar | Greatsword | Refined Moonstone | No special abilities or enchantments. |
Boom Hammer | Warhammer | Fire Salts | Burns the target for 30 points. Targets on fire take extra damage.2 |
Piper Wheel | Warhammer | Steel | No special abilities or enchantments. |
Warhammer of Admonishment | Greatsword | Steel | No special abilities or enchantments. Extremely large, and probably not plausible for most Dragonborns to carry, unless you are a massive tank. |
General notes:
- Gives back Dragon Bone when deconstructed at a smelter, even though it requires Dragon Scales to improve.
- Has the same enchantment description as Ahzidal's Flame Bow, and may be disenchantable. Gives back steel if deconstructed at a smelter.

Note that we are putting crossbows and rifles into the same table here. Glenmoril is counting two-handed guns as rifles, and those are classed as Crossbows when viewed in your inventory. We are following that classification here.

Assassin Crossbow | Steel | Ignores 50% of armor, similar to vanilla enhanced Steel crossbows. |
Witch Hunter Rifle | Steel | Armor penetration: 50%, Reload speed: +20%. |
Several types of ammunition are craftable at any forge, and Glenmoril's guns are what that ammunition is for. The various ammunition types take different materials to make, and will be impacted by what perks you've unlocked in Smithing. So be sure to review which ammo types you might be interested in, and make sure you have relevant perks and materials to make those types.
If you do not care to make ammo yourself, Nostos the vendor carries a lot of ammo you can purchase from him.
Players familiar with Dragonborn will recognize Ahzidal as the name of the dragon priest in Kolbjorn Barrow on Solstheim. Glenmoril has a large number of items related to him, so they get their own section on this page.

Items in Glenmoril are sold by a vendor, Nostos, who spawns at the Roadside Ruins as soon as you hit level 30. If you're not familiar with the location, it is a short distance roughly northwest of Falkreath, and north-ish of the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary. It's along the same road that runs past the Sanctuary. Keep following that road a short ways north and you should find it to the west of the road.
Nostos sits in the center of the ruins, along with his dog. He sells a wide variety of items (possibly everything in the mod). All items listed further up the page are ones confirmed to be in Nostos' sale inventory. In addition to those things, he also sells the following:
- An assortment of books, including four skill books for Alteration
Yes. Nostos will be available even if you haven't formally launched the mod, so you can swing by the Roadside Ruins at your convenience to see what he's selling.
Many thanks to the following users on #txbn-general who contributed information for this page:
- Kok0, who confirmed info about the Roadside Ruins
- Foamimi, who contributed info about her patch for NPC appearances in this mod, and about followers
