Toolbar

Quick access with hoTools Toolbar buttons to

Quickly run different Searches for the <Search Term> 'myFunction'. In Settings use:

  • <Search Term> as Search Term, see Settings

Configure an Action for your Toolbar button:

you want to perform by clicking on a button with your Button-Name and your Helptext.

Then later just press the named Button and hoTools performs the stored Action. The stored Action may use selected EA items like Packages, Diagrams, Model-Elements, Attributes, Search Results, etc.

Search

In the field <Search Term> you can enter:

  • Fix Search Term to use in Query
  • <Search Term> to use the value from GUI

With '<Search Term>' you can quickly run different Searches with the same '<Search Term>'.

Enter your Button and run the stored Search.

Type <Search Name> <Search Term> Description
EA Search Simple my Search with EA Search 'Simple' for 'my'
SQL myScript.sql mySearchTerm* Run the hoTools SQL script file

Service / Script

Press your Button and run the stored Service or Script.

Type Name Description
Service LockPackage Run the Service
Script hoDemo.run Run the Script

Example

  • Button 'M1' may run the Search to display my modules
  • Button 'TDia' may run the SQL Search TopDiagrams.sql
  • Button 'L' may lock the selected Package (see Services)
  • Button 'UL' may unlock the selected Package (see Services)
  • Button 'ULA' may unlock all items locked by current user (see Services)
  • Button 'Upd' may run your Script 'UpdateMyModule.Run' (see Scripts)

  • Service
    • GUID Copy GUID to Clipboard
    • Names Copy and sort selected names to Clipboard (Diagram, Element, Package,..)
    • Review Out an identification of the selected item (Name, Type, GUID) to Clipboard
  • Find (fast switch between different Searches)
    • F Search with in GUI
    • Q Search Quick Search
    • S Search Simple

To define the SQL search path for your SQL Scripts define it by a semicolon seperated list:
