Research Efforts

30-min Research Chunks

Undergraduate research can be challenging due to high course loads and frequent testing. It is prudent to approach your research by what can be done in 30 minutes of dedicated effort as that is often all that can be done some days. These plans below are a way to break-up the larger tasks found on the Issue board into bite-size research challenges. This is a good place to get started when you are not sure what to do next. They will be updated as we move forward, so Be sure to mark each completed as you work.

Box Projects

  • Box Project #: Salt Type, Var 1, Var 2 - Condition of Interest
   *CS - Clean Flibe
   *FS - Fueled Salt
Old Projects (May Revisit) Some of these where planned before I knew enough about available thermochemical data. Runs with O or H will not be possible.
  • Box Project 0: Phase Diagrams for Pure Salt vs Clean Salt
  • Box Project 1: CS, Temp, Hyper-Hypo Stoichiometric F - Vapor Phase & Redox Potential]]
  • Box Project 2: CS, Temp, O Content - Vapor Phase & Redox Potential
  • Box Project 3: CS, Temp, He Content - Vapor Phase & Redox Potential
  • Box Project 4: CS, Temp, Xe Content - Vapor Phase & Redox Potential
  • Box Project 6: FS, Temp, Hyper-Hypo Stoichiometric F - Vapor Phase & Redox Potential
  • Box Project 7: FS, Temp, O Content - Vapor Phase & Redox Potential
  • Box Project 8: FS, Temp, He Content - Vapor Phase & Redox Potential
  • Box Project 9: FS, Temp, Xe Content - Vapor Phase & Redox Potential
  • Box Project 10: FS, Temp, H(tritium) Content, - Vapor Phase & Redox Potential
