Action Items from the Last Meeting
Jorge
- wrote the settings and tallies sections of the steel coupons
applied the only the steels that would be irradiated to the settings by updating the materials a bit using the openmc.coupledoperator and .deplete.predictorintegrator function but i am running into issues with my chain.xml file (resolved)
- First Successful Run Complete
- Ran into issue looking into opening an H5 file
Braden
- Contacted Dr. Besmann, waiting for a response. Will Follow Up a week from today
- Analyzed Locs Code, Uploaded Function Guide to my Fork of Locs Code
- I am still missing a description for two minor file pairs (matrix and calculus)
- Once those are complete I will create a visual map of the 4 functionalities of his code and their dependencies, comparing this map to my Concept Map 1 15 20205
- I need to understand better why Loc performs thermocalcs in this code? He may have a more sophisticated method than I originally understood.
- Two Options: Modify Locs Existing C++ Code, Rewrite the whole code in Python. Plan is to have this done ASAP.
- Organized and mapped the tools I have built so far, Once I clean them up I will upload them to the Git Hub
- I have created my Lit Review Libraries in ResearchRabitt and NotebookLM, I am working on Annotated Bibliographies. With those complete I will be able to draft the full set of slides. They will be done next week and ready for review. After the slides are complete I will begin writing in earnest.
- ANS Summary Accepted without Revisions Reviewers comment :
The paper introduces an important initiative for digital twin development in molten salt reactors (MSRs), addressing key challenges like chemical drift, impurity transport, and corrosion modeling. While the conceptual framework is well-explained, the study would benefit from clearer definitions of model integration across different timescales and more details on validation strategies for the proposed simulations. Additionally, given the complexity of molten salt chemistry, incorporating experimental benchmarks or data from operational test loops would significantly enhance the credibility and applicability of the digital twin approach.
Plans for This week
Jorge
- Processing Results
- Irradiation results took a long time for the code to process, so i might work on optimizing the code to run a bit faster or running it in different shell intervals, will also change the time variable so it doesn't have to run so many batches
- Really busy this week with coursework and a thermo test on wednesday so my progress will be limited in these respects
Braden
- Continue Work On Locs Code, meet with him if I must
- Finish Slides by next meeting
