Introduction

IndustrialCraft 2 Classic (IC2C) is a very large, expansive tech mod with varying aspects, ranging from Ore Doubling to Nuclear Physcis, down to Crops. It offers its own Energy System, EU, new ores, Copper, Tin, Uranium, and Silver, and uses many resources.

Getting Started with IC2C is not a very complicated process, but can be a little much to take in. This is why this helpful Wiki exists! Any information you may need can be viewed below; note this is only for early-game information.

Starting Off
Starting IC2C is the same as any mod! Make sure JEI is installed, as it's almost essential! No recipes will be shown.

First, start off (as in any game) by punching wood. Once you have basic tools, it's time to start mining! You'll need Iron Copper, Redstone, and any other ores you find! After you have these materials, you can start crafting IC2C.

But hold on! You don't want to smelt these ores! You can make a Stone Macerator, which doubles your ore output just for putting a burnable substance in. It works the same as the normal Macerator, just runs off coal! You can then smelt the dust in an Iron Furnace to conserve a little bit of your fuel; you've just doubled your ore output!

It's pertinent to achieve Power and make better Machinery then a Stone Macerator and an Iron Furnace. Your first Power Gen will be the Generator; once crafted, place it down. When its GUI is opened, you can import fuel into the bottom box, and anything you need to charge in the upper one. The Generator has an internal buffer, but you'll want to store some of it. This is where a Batbox comes in. Once the Batbox is crafted, place it next to the generator. Any energy the Generator creates, or has in its internal buffer, will automatically be sent to the Batbox, given that its output side (only side with the orange circle) isn't the immediate side. The Batbox can be used to charge items like the Mining Drill and Chainsaw, but Energy can also be extracted using Cables. Since the BatBox is a Low-Voltage Storage Unit (LVSU), any cables that can transfer more then 32 EU/t can be used; this means that Ultra Low-Current Cables (or Tin Cables) will incinerate if a Batbox outputs to it. But be careful! If a LV Machine is connected to the system, there's a chance it could explode, due to a higher voltage transferring to it. In this case, using LV Cables (or Copper Cables) is essential; Copper Cables will transmit up to 32 EU/t, and any LV machines connected won't explode. If an MFE, MFSU, or any Power Generation that outputs more then 32 EU/t is connected to Copper Cables, the Copper Cables will explode!

Finally, it's time to upgrade the Machinery. Stone Macerators and Iron Furnaces work great, but using Energy is ideal. Once your power is set-up, and you have some Energy, you can craft a Macerator. The Macerator works exactly like the Stone Macerator, but requires EU to operate, not burnable substances. The Macerator is an LV Machine, and Copper Cables will work great with "default" Macerators. The same is true for the Electric Furnace, the Energy variant of the Iron Furnace. It is also a LV Machine, and copper cables will also work perfectly with them.

Industrial Adventure
And now, your adventure into IndustrialCraft 2 Classic is your own. You have Energy, a few Machines, Rubber, Ingots, and more. The possibilities are endless; open a Nuclear Facility, set-up giant Solar Arrays, create huge UU-Matter Factories, compress your food into canned food; you can even create Electric Tools like the Drills and Chainsaw, Electric Wrench and Treetap, the Mowing Tool, and create fantastic armor like Nano Suit and Quantum Suit. Harness your Energy to fly above mountains with Jetpacks: this will, truly, be the largest, most expansive sandbox that you will ever step in.
