The Iron Furnace, offered by IndustrialCraft 2 Classic (IC2C), is a better version of the normal furnace. The Iron Furnace has a better fuel efficiency rate. Below is a chart of the Fuel Efficiency difference:

The Iron Furnace is crafted in two ways: using either 8 vanilla Iron Ingots, or 5 vanilla Iron Ingots and a vanilla Furnace. The Iron Furnace is used in the recipes of the Fuel Boiler, Wood Gasificator, Generator and Electric Furnace.
