- Traders will not land or depart during storms.
- Traders will not attempt to land if the selected pad is smaller than the required size.
- The required landing pad size is indicated on the comms terminal with the above icons.

Some trader ship types require a runway to land on.

- Traders with this icon on the comms terminal will not exit their ship, unless the atmosphere around the ship is safe for humans.
- The trader can be told to depart by pressing the button on the Landingpad Data And Power structure.
- Tier 1 traders can always be resolved and interrogated with just a Small Satellite Dish.
- The Medium Satellite Dish and Large Satellite Dish can be used, but are very slow to turn. compared to the Small Satellite Dish.
- Tier 1 traders are always 3x3 in pad size, and never require a runway or atmosphere.
- Tier 2 traders can usually be resolved and interrogated with a Small Satellite Dish.
- Some tier 2 traders are too far away for the Small Satellite Dish and must be interrogated with the Medium Satellite Dish or Large Satellite Dish instead.
- Tier 2 traders sell everything that Tier 1 traders do, and some more advanced items.
- See Trader Types for a list off all tradeable items.
- The Medium Satellite Dish is powerful enough to interrogate most tier 3 traders.
- Some tier 3 traders are too far away for the Medium Satellite Dish and must be interrogated with the Large Satellite Dish instead.
- Tier 3 traders sell everything that Tier 1 and Tier 2 traders do, and some more advanced items.
