Yeti 1500X/3000X/6000X

What should I do if I don't plan to use my Yeti for an extended period?

If you don't plan to use your Yeti for an extended period of time, you can put it into sleep mode. Just disable all the output ports, disconnect input power, turn off the WiFi, and press the LIGHT button to turn off of the LCD backlight. The Yeti will enter sleep mode and the battery should be able to store its power for several months. The ideal conditions for storing your Yeti are in a cool, dry area out of direct sunlight. The internal battery will last longest at around 70% full. One great way to achieve this would be with through use of the Custom charge profile with the Maximum Charge set to 80% and a Recharge Point of 60% with the unit plugged into the included AC adapter. If this is impractical, a similar effect can be had by manually charging the unit up to around 80% every few months.

Why is my 230V Yeti showing as a 120V model in the Goal Zero App?

Many users with 230V Yeti models have reported that their unit shows as a 120V model in the Yeti App. Goal Zero is aware of a firmware bug where the inverter type may be misidentified in the model identification. This does not impact the usage of the 230V inverter. The app simply shows the unit with American 120V volt ports and shows the model as "120V" instead of "230V". Goal Zero is working to resolve this issue via a firmware update; meanwhile, there is a workaround if a customer wishes for the correct identification in the Yeti App. Workaround:

  1. Unpair the Yeti from the Yeti App
    1. Go to your Yeti Dashboard
    2. Go to Settings
    3. Tap Unpair Device
  2. Turn on the AC Inverter Port on your Yeti
  3. Repeat the Pairing Setup
  4. Once pairing is complete
    1. The inverter type should now correctly report as 230V
    2. You may now turn off the AC Inverter Port and it should continue to show as 230V in the Yeti App from now on
    3. If you ever change between Direct/Cloud connect or unpair/re-pair, you will need to enable the AC port during the setup.

NOTE: Supported on Yeti 1500X/3000X/6000X running firmware v1.5.7 or newer.

My Yeti is unresponsive?

This means it may be exhibiting one or more of the following symptoms:

  1. Does not respond to any button presses
  2. Battery always shows as 0% and the BATTERY EXCLAMATION (BATT_EXCLAIM) Icon is blinking
  3. The blue Charging LED is stuck on or stuck blinking and there is no power source plugged into the Yeti inputs.

Firmware Updates: Why is my Yeti X occasionally blinking uPd?

If you see the Yeti occasionally blinking uPd in the Output Segment as indicated here:

This means your Yeti was unable to finish the update. The Yeti should still be usable in this state, but some things may not function as expected. NOTE: The Yeti will try to resolve the update every 2 hours if it's in this state. As long as the Yeti is able to get online, it should be able to resolve the update. If you'd prefer to try again immediately, you can try the steps to Resolve an Incomplete Update.

Charge Profiles: How do I change the Charge Profile?

First, check that your Yeti model supports the Charging Profile feature. If your Yeti is supported, you can toggle the Charging Profile directly on the Yeti using the Charging Profile Toggle Button Combination. Otherwise, you can change the Charging Profile via the app in Direct or Cloud Connect mode by navigating to the Charging Profile settings screen.

Charge Profiles: Why can't I toggle to the Custom Profile using the buttons?

A Custom Charging Profile must first be setup via the Yeti App. Read more here.

Firmware Updates: Why is my Yeti 1400/3000 Lithium battery outline blinking?

The Yeti 1400/3000 doesn't have the ability to show text messages on the LCD like the Yeti X models. When the frame that outlines the battery charge segments blinks 3x every 20+ seconds, this indicates that part of the update is incomplete.

NOTE: The Yeti will try to resolve the update every 2 hours if it's in this state. As long as the Yeti is able to get online, it should be able to resolve the update. If you'd prefer to try again immediately, you can try the steps to Resolve an Incomplete Update.
