To distinguish the Turk language family, the region of Turkey is referenced as Anatolia.
The Turk language family is an oddity which can still be linked to the superfamily
"Turk" was often more of a loconym than an ethnonym, as was "Tartar".
The coexistence of Turkish speakers between Turkey and the Tarim with Indo-Europeans like Tocharians surely lead to some confusion, but also to genetic, cultural and linguistic interbreeding. See abc and oxus
Some scientist even connect the Turk language family to the root of PIE
We suspect Turk is associated with the Seima-Turbino phenomenon and thus an extreme Creole of Uralic, PIE and Pre-Proto-Turk languages. The connections to Korean and Japanese need to be further investigated, since they were also brought into the Bronze age via the Seima-Turbino phenomenon. Strong influences on China are now well documented.
Ethnonym for Seima-Turbino was 鬼 guǐ™ @ 鬼方 guǐfang <> 𓃶 贵 guì
The region of modern Turkey, Anatolia, is lacking in data when it comes to the critical copper age 5000-3000 BC. Hopefully new excavations in Dülük, Gaziantep will shed more light on this epoch. Genetically it was mixed and part of the Southern Arc horizon which brought PIE to (or from) Iran and over the Caucasus.
Genetically turks are a rather diverse group; the Uzbeks and Kyrgyz are closely related to Europeans, Whereas other groups are dominated by foreign hablogroups. Their old skygod+spirit Tengri
Kut shows striking similarities to 𒀭 Dingir, Proto European Theon/Deus as well as Chinese, Korean and Japanese Tian. Of special interest are the Bashkir people(bash "head" and qort "wolf/hero/nation") and Bulgars. Bashkirs worshipped twelve gods: winter, summer, rain, wind, trees, people, horses, water, night, day, death, heaven and earth, the one above all being the sky god.
The path from the Oxus tribe of the Oghuz via the Persian Seljuk empire to Anatolian Ottomans is well documented.
Recent linguistic, genetic and archaeological evidence suggests that the earliest Turkic peoples descended from agricultural communities in Northeastern China and wider Northeast Asia, who moved westwards into Mongolia in the late 3rd millennium BC, where they adopted a pastoral lifestyle. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkic_peoples
These signals might be highly misleading: We predict that refined paleogenetic analysis will reveal the "west migration" of Turks to be a mere backflow.
Many vastly differing ethnic groups have throughout history become part of the Turkic peoples through language shift, acculturation, conquest, intermixing, adoption and religious conversion.
So the influence proto Turkish had on IE languages is constricted to rather late branches: possibly Germanic (via ancestors of Gothic) and definately Persian and Indian. Likewise influence from north-eastern IE languages into Turkish are plausible to continuously occur since the contact with proto Tocharians.
The case system looks exactly like Latin, except for the Possessive case.

This is not meant to be evidence of a Nostratic ancestral language, just for linguistic interbreeding between the Getae (Goth) Saxa and Turks, who indisputably lived on the same territories for millennia.
However the Eurasian pool of common syllables and patterns is astonishingly coherent.
