The dark heart of Threadbare. The Observatory of the Obscure stands on the floating peak of the highest summit in the WeaveWatch Wale, high above the Absurdity Abyss, with a view, on the rare clear day, of the entire fraying world below. It was built as the Observatory of the Unseen, the crowning campus of the University of the Unseen, at the very top of the Great Weave, so that the Observists could watch and study the whole world through its many lenses.

That view is why Null wanted it. Null marched the Obscurists North and took the Observatory from the University, and the taking tore the mountains open: around the Observatory, the Absurdity Abyss formed. The Void poured in to fill it, consuming the deep valleys, and the mountain tops were left cut off, floating high above the Abyss and crusted with Void Creep. The Observatory now stands on the highest of them, makeshift and half in ruin: shattered telescopes, lecture halls open to the sky, and a new tenancy.

Here Null remains, with the Obscurists, watching the world disappear, waiting, and sending out the creatures of the Fray, woven on the three Denial Looms hidden across Threadbare, to speed the Void's spread. The Obscurists insist that a place built to observe the unknown was always destined to become one.
