Missy: The Rise of Poppy is a 2025 short game and the fourth in the Missy Cinematic Universe. It is a prequel, set two years before the events of the main game and tells the story of how Poppy became leader of The Bad Girls. It was released to supporters on the 24th December 2025 and to the public on 31st December 2025. Like its predecessors, it is an 18+ NSFW game.

Main Characters

The player pilots Poppy, who is the game's protagonist. The game serves as significant character development for her. The other main characters in the piece are Celine, the current Bad Girl leader, Isabelle, Poppy's girlfriend and Kaitlyn, Poppy's friend and on-off lover. Supporting characters include Malia, Angel and Erin.

Several new character models were created for the game: Isabelle, who had thus far only had placeholder assets in the main game, as well as new Bad Girls Charlotte and Sheryl, who are introduced in this game, but are still in fifth year in the main game and will appear there later.

Story

From this point onwards, the article contains gameplay spoilers.

Two years before the events of Missy, Poppy is a second year at Saint Alancia's. She is not currently aligned to either of the main cliques, but hopes to become a Popular Girl. As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that this is not going to happen as she wants it too badly and is seen as needy and desperate - a fatal disqualification.

After Kaitlyn convinces her to perform a cruel act, Poppy attempts to join The Bad Girls. She is introduced to Celine, who dismisses her out of hand. Celine continues to antagonise Poppy throughout the game until it is settled in their final showdown at the end.

Isabelle's role in the game is that of the supportive girlfriend. The game provides significant character development for her, though it does not tell the story of how she and Poppy later break up. She is uneasy about Poppy joining The Bad Girls but stands by her in the end.

The final battle of the game is against Celine, and results in Poppy overthrowing her and taking over The Bad Girls. She then proceeds to perform her true act of cruelty, breaking Celine in front of all the other bad girls, and Celine then becomes the first girl to be enslaved in the same way Poppy will later try to enslave Missy.

Poppy resolves to complete her rise to power by taking over the Popular Girls as well, becoming the school's first ever Bad Popular Girl.

Wider Significance

The entire story of the game is canon, and thus it provides character development for all of the characters.

In addition to telling of how Poppy took over The Bad Girls, the game also shows how Malia became a Popular Girl.

Easter Eggs, References and Trivia

Missy puts in a brief cameo, appearing with Renée in Fallulah Park. She informs her mother that she has passed her exam and Poppy's stream of consciousness foreshadows later events by mentioning that Missy's face annoys her. The sprite was modified to be wearing the uniform of Sapphory City Central Middle School.

Miss Pupusa and Miss Argolla can be overheard discussing the imminent arrival of Miss Paris at the school. That and the presence of Miss Boceta serve to further remind the player that this is the past.

Because Poppy takes Celine's ribbons when she defeats her, these can be assumed to be the very same ribbons that Missy takes from her later if the player sides with Angel in Avenging Angel and chooses to become a Bad Girl. This continues the theme of taking either ribbons or panties as a trophy.
