How journal rules and buildings become available. After the finding event you still have to schedule a PTA vote and win the factions.
The journal unlockable system was rebuilt recently. Right now the only fully wired unlockable objects are the temporary school level votes. Cafeteria, school jobs, student relationships, and theoretical sex ed still unlock via story flags ("Added new rule/building to journal!") and then go to a vote. The finding steps below are current; the vote UI may still be in flux.
Cafeteria (building)
The school has no working canteen. Students live off the kiosk.
Finding event: Kiosk → Get a Snack, Expensive Bento.
| When | Weekdays free time, or weekends daytime |
| Extra | 65% chance to even be in the pool; school level 4 or below; cafeteria not already open |
Miwa Igarashi cannot afford a bento. Two choices:
- Help out — you pay $50. Happiness and reputation go up. This does not unlock the cafeteria.
- Leave alone — the clerk's reaction is rolled:
- Normal — he refuses; small happiness/charm hit
- Kind (25%) — he gives her the bento. You realise students are going hungry. Cafeteria is added to the journal.
- Slimy (5%) — he offers something else entirely; large happiness/charm hit and a reputation ding
The old wiki said "leave her alone and hope for 25%". That is still the route. Helping her is the kind choice for her, not the unlock.
After the vote passes, the building spends time under construction. Visiting it during that window plays a short "still building" beat, then it opens.
The Cafeteria Crisis situation in the journal is a longer Adelaide/kitchen arc on top of this. Several of its thresholds are still placeholders — use it for flavour and injected events, not as a required walkthrough.
School jobs (rule)
Students can work in school facilities (starting with the cafeteria).
Finding event: Cafeteria → Order Food, A lot to do, while the rule is not yet unlocked. Weekdays, daytime.
Adelaide Hall is running the counter alone. Variants:
| Variant | What happens |
|---|---|
| Normal | She copes; small parent-facing happiness/charm |
| Tripped | She falls; mixed charm/reputation |
| Overwhelmed | She is drowning in tickets |
You need the overwhelmed variant three times. On the fourth overwhelmed visit you step behind the counter, spend two hours on dishes, and propose hiring students. Adelaide backs it at the PTA. School Jobs is added to the journal.
After the vote, Students at work replaces this event at the counter (weekdays morning/evening, weekends daytime, school level 1–6). Miwa, plus sometimes Elsie or Luna, plus sometimes Sakura.
Student relationships (rule)
Lets students date and show it on campus. Until then, couples get sent to the office.
Finding event: Office → Look around, Two students waiting. Weekdays, daytime. School level 1–5, rule not yet unlocked.
Yuriko Oshima and Elsie Johnson are sitting there because a teacher caught them as a couple.
- Do not ignore them — that only ticks teacher happiness.
- Ask why they are here.
- Take care of it for them — you tell them the rule is on the way out. Student relationships is added to the journal.
Tell about policy lectures them and does not unlock the rule.
Once the vote passes, the Couple kissing patrol event in the school building no longer offers "Stop them" as the policy option.
Theoretical sex education (rule)
New subject: bodies and reproduction, on paper. Finding this is the whole Sex ed introduction chain. The journal entry appears at the PTA discussion, before the vote.
After it passes you get the Friday assembly, the weekend mini-events, and the Monday first class. Teach Class → Sex Ed stays in the school building afterwards.
School levels 3–10 (temporary)
There is no proper level-up story yet. The journal lists a single Level unlockable that steps from 3 to 10.
- Visible from school level 2 (for the jump to 3).
- Each vote sets school, parent, and teacher levels, and bumps Emiko.
- The description warns you to back up the save. Not every event has variants at high levels.
This is a stopgap. It will be replaced by real transition events.
What each number means on campus (dress, talk, behaviour from modest to anarchy) is the School Levels bible. Story currently reaches 2 via sex-ed introduction; the votes above skip the missing transition scenes.
PTA votes in general
Unlocking an option in the journal is not the same as passing it.
- Open the journal, schedule the vote, and pick a meeting.
- Raise teachers / parents / students support (work the office, patrol, teach, counselling — whatever the factions care about).
- Show up to the PTA. Dedicated vote scenes exist for theoretical sex ed; other votes use the generic PTA flow.
Money costs, when they exist, are charged at schedule time and refunded if you cancel.
