The Newtron Badnik is an object in Sonic the Hedgehog, appearing in Green Hill Zone. Like (almost) all other badniks in the game, it can be defeated with a single hit, creating an explosion, a points graphic, and spawning an animal in the process. Newtrons come in two colors, and their behavior depends on their color. Blue Newtrons will drop down to the floor and dash forward towards Sonic, while Green Newtrons will appear briefly, fire a single shot, then disappear. In a quirk (or bug?), the Green Newtrons never reappear after disappearing, whereas Blue Newtrons can reappear later if they haven't been destroyed.
