28_Animal

The Animal is an object in Sonic the Hedgehog, appearing in all playable stages in the standard game mode GM_Level, with the exception of Final Zone, due to no badniks being present in said stage (though they can still be spawned in via Debug Mode). They also appear during the ending sequence.

Animals appear under one of three conditions:

  • A badnik is destroyed (Dynamic Object).
    • These animals fall from the explosion, and upon landing on terrain, they flee to the left.
    • Only one of two animals will appear, based on the current zone.
  • A Prison Capsule is opened up (Dynamic Object).
    • These animals appear from within the capsule, fleeing to either the left or the right.
    • Only two types of animals will appear, based on the current zone.
  • The Ending sequence (Static Object $28).
    • Some of these animals move to follow Sonic, while others hop in place.
    • All animals appear in the Ending sequence.

NOTE: Animals do not spawn from badniks if the Enemy Rings elective mod is active. They still appear in the other two instances.
