Welcome to RIS: Wiki

RTR: Imperium Surrectum is a total overhaul mod for Rome: Total War Remastered with a focus on historical accuracy alongside fun and challenging gameplay. RIS 0.7 marks a major new release, reflecting over two years of research and hard work to refine and expand the mod.

With 0.7, RIS greatly expands and revamps the whole base game:

  • A completely overhauled map with 1,305 settlements.
  • 230 playable factions, many of which remastered for v0.7.
  • 1,218 new units, many of which remastered for v0.7.
  • 22 unique cultures, nuanced by 51 beliefs, for more diverse governance and recruitment.
  • Revamped and expanded building chains, creating more unique and strategic settlements.

On top of this, RIS 0.7 adds major new systems for:

These changes ensure a far richer campaign, with a scale and diversity that far surpasses the original game.

The main RIS experience has two separate campaigns, one for a unified Roman faction and one with four Roman factions and senate missions closer to the vanilla set-up.

The new release also launches a new RIS Light campaign with similar depth and mechanics but a smaller scale. 600 settlements and a half-sized map make for quicker and more decisive campaigns. The Light campaign also features a 1Roman or 4Roman campaign.

Each of the campaigns has its own mod folders.

This wiki documents the new additions and the main systems found in RIS 0.7, for the main campaign.

I'm new: where do I start?

The game guides document the new systems, and our community guides have everything you need to get started on the most popular campaigns.

Pages What is on them
Regions and settlements 1,305 Settlements by size, the land tags, and every region in a sortable list. A region page is the land: terrain, climate, fertility, water, port, trade goods. A settlement page is the town: size, manpower, who holds it, what is built, what can be raised
Settlement sizes 5 The settlement size feature is a campaign progression mechanic where crossing specific population thresholds unlocks upgraded government buildings, which in turn allow you to construct higher-tier military and economic structures.
Trade goods 42 What each good is worth, where on the map it is, who holds it, what it unlocks
Region tags 10 What a region's terrain, climate, water source, harbour, recruitment zones, homeland and fertility each decide
