EDGE Environment Configuration

This page describes the environment variables which may be changed with the EDGE Configuration Utility. For information about the EDGE Configuration Utility see EDGE Configuration Utility.


All of the environment variables that can be set in the EDGE Configuration Utility are displayed in the tables below:

Planet Graphics Settings

These variables are inputs sourced within the Planet2 Configuration File (configs/planet2.cfg or configs/planet2_generic.cfg)

Description Environment Variable Additional Information
Cache Size Used by Planet2 Plugin PLANET2_CACHE_SIZE  
Number of Texture Pages used by Planet2 Plugin PLANET2_NUM_TEX_PAGES  
Number of Bump Pages used by Planet2 Plugin PLANET2_NUM_BMP_PAGES  
Set Detail Factor Option for Planet2 Plugin PLANET2_DETAIL_FACTOR  
Detailed Atmosphere PLANET2_ATMOS_DETAIL  

ISS Settings

These variables are inputs sourced within the ISS Configuration File (iss.cfg)

Description Environment Variable Additional Information
Set Large High Resolution Size LARGE_HIRES_SIZE  
Set Medium High Resolution Size MEDIUM_HIRES_SIZE  
Set Small High Resolution Size SMALL_HIRES_SIZE  
Set High Resolution Size HIRES_SIZE  
Set Low Resolution Size LOWRES_SIZE

set all of these variables to zero if you do not need a detailed version of the ISS

General DOUG Graphics Settings

These variables are inputs sourced within the CEV and Speedy Configuration Files (cev.cfg and speedy.cfg)

NVIDIA Driver Settings

These variables are specific to the NVIDIA Driver. To see options for the NVIDIA Driver, type the following in the command line:

"nvidia -settings -q FSAA -V" - this is wrong, need to update this!!!!

Anti-Aliasing in the NVIDIA Driver __GL_FSAA_MODE  
Anisotropic Filtering in the NVIDIA Driver __GL_LOG_MAX_ANISO  
Vblank Syncing Feature of the NVIDIA Driver __GL_SYNC_TO_VBLANK 00088: toggling some solar arrays on and off causes weird behavior
