Description:
Turning some solar arrays on and off, or highlighting them can cause weird behavior. This might not have anything to do with the solar arrays themselves, but seems to produce the weird behavior.

frankie September 10, 2008, at 09:42 AM: The latest theory is that this may have something to do with the VBLANK SYNCING feature of the nvidia driver. With this feature on, if you aren't able to redraw in one pass of the sync, the driver will force two passes (usually about half the frame-rate). Toggling a piece of geometry as big as a solar array on the station could be big enough to cause the frame rate to jump from ~60 fps (or the vblank freq) to close to 30 fps. —FG
frankie October 30, 2008, at 06:25 PM: The SYNC_TO_VBLANK theory is still holding water at this point. I'm going to mark this as a non-issue. If it appears again and the VBLANK is not causing the jump then we can reopen it.
