Unique Power Armor - jackeys/Power-Armor-to-the-People GitHub Wiki
Throughout the Commonwealth, there are a few unique pieces of power armor. Their effects can't be found anywhere else, and often cater to a specific play style. Some even require specific perks to function, providing specific bonuses to those perks.
Since Power Armor to the People is modular and not everyone will have all of the power armor sets, there is a configuration setting in MCM to add all unique power armor items even if the power armor set they normally correspond to is not installed. If this is enabled, a replacement set (noted in parentheses in the table below) will be used so that the unique item is still available. However, if enabled, installing the power armor set the unique effect was meant for will not place the unique item again - it will remain only available as the replacement item. If not enabled, installing other power armor sets (along with the corresponding Power Armor to the People patch) will place the new unique items.
The following unique power armor pieces are available. All of these unique power armor locations can be viewed on the Power Armor Location Map.

- Entries marked in italics are from the base game, and are included for convenience
- Power armor types in parentheses are replacements that are only used if the mod for the standard type of power armor is not installed and the appropriate configuration is set in MCM
- If you have more than one X-02 power armor mod installed, Fleetfoot will be whichever patch is lower in your load order
- If you have more than one Hellfire power armor mod installed, Heavy Metal will be whichever patch is lower in your load order
- If you have more than one Midwest power armor mod installed, Electromagnetic Recycler will be whichever patch is lower in your load order
- Unfinished Prototype, Ashur's Arm, True American, and Surefire are available from The Collector if the configuration setting to add all unique effects regardless of installed mods is used
In Mod Configuration Menu, there is a configuration option to allow these unique effects to be added to the list of possible legendary power armor effects. Each effect can be toggled individually. This is intended to allow the unique effects to apply to any type of power armor so you can get all of the unique effects for your favourite power armor set, but these settings should be used at your own discretion. Using them means that you may get a powerful effect early in the game, so you may want to consider when you add a particular effect in. For arms and legs, the effect is allowed for either left or right to allow for any combination, but using two of the same effect is not advised as one of them could either do nothing, or the effect could be too strong.
When wearing Wasteland Alpha, animals and creatures of the wasteland that are lower level than you have a chance to become your allies. When they are your allies, they will automatically attack other enemies and can be given commands.
There is a cooldown period of around 5 in-game hours after a creature joins you.
Cryogenerator can be configured using MCM to remove the need for an equipped cryo weapon (any weapon that uses cryo cells for ammo) or to change the limit on when it stops generating new cryo cells.
General's Regalia uses the same effect as the standard flare gun and abides by the same cooldown timer and conditions for whether Minutemen will respond. It will be affected by any mods that change the Flare Gun weapon.
General's Regalia can call for Minutemen back-up at the start of combat when the following condition are met:
- You are outside
- You are in the Commonwealth
- You are a member of the Minutemen
- There are at least 3 combat targets
- The Flare Gun is not on cooldown
Heavy Metal will also compensate for half the weight of the first 5 mini-nukes and 10 missiles in Survival Mode by default - this can be configured using MCM if you use a mod that disables ammo weight in Survival Mode.
The Juggernaut won't increase movement speed above 100% faster than normal.
Lucky Deflector multiplies the Ricochet chance by 1.5 (e.g. 7.5% chance with perk rank 1, 10.5% chance with perk rank 2).
For each worn piece of power armor, the following damage increase applies:
Power Armor Condition | Damage Increase |
---|---|
100% | 0% |
75% | 1% |
50% | 3% |
25% | 5% |
0% | 0% |
The total damage increase is the sum of these increases for each piece of worn power armor. For example, if every piece of power armor is below 25% but none are broken, the total increase in attack damage will be 30%.
Note that 25% is when the power armor HUD shows the condition as red. When this is shown, the maximum damage increase is available.
Piezonucleic Power Armor in the base game does not actually do what the item description says - this has been fixed, increasing AP regen by 50% more than the Powered legendary effect but only when exposed to radiation.
Rocketeer requires F4SE to decrease jetpack AP drain and increase jetpack thrust.
