Key Types (Finger-moving)

  • A pattern in which the hand is moved dynamically and finger movement is present. It is in the form of a composite of multiple key types, and using this finger movement in the flow of the music or at points in the music can create a strong impression. Arrows falling from above and below are also a feature of this pattern. There are many derived key types, including 11key.

About Mov Levels

  • On some websites, such as the Difficulty Chart, there are symbols from A to G, separately from the difficulty level.
These are called "Mov Levels," and are the hand movement/Alt component of finger-movement keys (including 17-key keys), separately from the difficulty. It does not depend on the difficulty of the chart, but rather on the technique required for the finger-movement key types.

  • For more information, please also see the following page (Japanese). ⇒ About Mov Level Criteria

11key

[ Difficulty level chart : Normal / Insane / Overjoy ]

  • The 11key has a form that is a combination of the 5key and 7key. Since both can be used for both expressions, expressions such as switching between 5key and 7key depending on the situation can also be used. Right-hand movement," in which the 5key section (arrow keys) and the right side of the 7key (J K L) are handled by the right hand The "left-hand move" or "cross move" that takes both the 5key section and the right side of the 7key section with the right hand allows for dynamic expression.

11Lkey

[ Difficulty level chart : Normal / Insane ]

  • 11Lkey, the left-hand version of 11key, has a habitual key configuration with seven or eight keys handled by the left hand. The key types on the left hand side are all adjacent to each other and within easy reach if you need to move around a bit. Taking advantage of this, simultaneous pressing across the top and bottom (two-dimensional placement) is effective in creating a strong impression, which is a characteristic of this key.

  • Compared to the 11key, it is easier to move the fingers, so there are many charts that make full use of the entire 11key, rather than changing according to the situation.

13key [TriplePlay]

[ Key types database for Taken : 13key ]

  • The 13key has a form that looks like a combination of the 5key and 9Akey. It is also called triple play because it has three pairs of arrow keys. This key type can be expressed differently from 11key by using both up-arrow keys that the lower 9Akey has.

15Akey

[ Key types database for Taken : 15Akey ]

  • The 15Akey has a form that combines the 11key and 11Lkey. It has the features of both, and is a greedy key configuration that allows the dynamic movement of the 11key as well as the two-dimensional placement of the 11Lkey.

15Bkey

[ Key types database for Taken : 15Bkey ]

  • The 15Bkey is configured like a 9Akey on top of a 7key. The characteristics of the 11Lkey, which is easy to move, allow this key type to move running up and down.

14ikey

[ Key types database for Taken : 14ikey ]

  • 14ikey in the form of a combination of 7ikey and 7key.
Originally part of a key type change work, it is now an independent key.

  • In addition to the 11key move, this key allows 11L-like moves between SDF/ZXC.
Due to the key placement and 11L, some plays can be seen to reverse or key-convert "ZXC" to "WER".

16ikey

[ Key types database for Taken : 16ikey ]

  • 16ikey in the form of a combination of 7ikey and 9Bkey. Originally part of a key type change work, it is now an independent key.

  • In addition to the movement of 11key and the two-dimensional placement of 14ikey, this key type has the luxury of the dynamic placement of 9Bkey. It has a variety of expressive possibilities.
