Rotate node icon   Rotate (node)

N rotated copies of geometry about a center point; or wire a value Field into Angle to rotate each item in place by the image (a flow/orientation field).

An L-shape at 9 o'clock rotated clockwise about a center through 90-degree steps.

Inputs

  • Geometry (any): the shape to rotate.
  • Center (point): the pivot the copies turn about.
  • Angle (any): degrees per step (positive turns clockwise); a number for the array, a value field to spin each item in place, or a list (one angle per item).
  • Repeat (number): how many rotated copies to make; copy k is turned k x Angle.
  • Add OG (on/off): also keep the original alongside the copies.

Outputs

  • Geometry (any): the rotated copies as a list, each its own group.

The Angle input - number vs field

Angle is typed any, and the whole node changes behavior with it:

  • A number: the rotational array: Repeat copies of the geometry, each turned a further Angle about the Center point (Add OG keeps the original alongside them).
  • A value field: each item is instead rotated in place, about its own centroid, by the field's value there. Repeat, Center, and Add OG are ignored - this is a flow/orientation field off an image. (A rotationally symmetric item like a circle shows no change.)
