Region: Points node icon   Region: Points (node)

A closed filled region through an ordered list of points.

Region: Points joins five navy points, numbered 1 through 5 in list order, with green straight segments and closes 5 back to 1, giving a region with an orange fill. The numbers are positions in the list, and that order is what determines the shape.

Region: Points joins an ordered list of points into a closed, filled region - each point to the next with a straight segment, and the last back to the first. Wire a point set straight in, or Collect several points first. Fewer than three points makes nothing.

Inputs

  • Points (point): the ordered corners of the polygon, taken as one list on a single wire. The list order is the corner order: it walks them 1 -> 2 -> 3 -> ... -> last and closes the last back to the first, so re-ordering the points re-shapes the polygon. Anything that already outputs a list of points - a Rectangular Grid, an Explode, a point field - wires straight in. Individual Point nodes each emit a single point, so to build a polygon from separate points, run them through Collect first to gather them into one ordered list, then wire that in. Fewer than three points produces nothing.

Outputs

  • Region (region): the closed filled shape.
  • Edges (curve): its sides, as separate curves, grouped per shape.
  • Points (point): its corners, grouped the same way.

What it is for

Region: Points builds a shape out of positions, so the shape follows wherever those positions go. Points from a Rectangular Grid, a Divide or an Explode drive it directly, and moving them reshapes the region without you redrawing anything.

Its twin Region: Curves closes curves instead. The two are a family, not one node: this one reads the ORDER of its points as the shape, while Region: Curves joins curves by matching their ends and does not care what order they arrive in.
