The View menu - fit the view and toggle what's drawn on screen.
Each command links into the guide that covers it in depth.
Zoom to Fit - zoom and pan so all objects fit in the window.
Center in View - center the window on the selection without changing zoom.
Actual Size - zoom so one millimeter of drawing is one millimeter on screen.
Schematic - a checkable toggle (⌘Y). Draws every shape as a flat grey placeholder with a constant-width hairline boundary - a simplified schematic that sets aside fills, dashes, and stored weight to show structure over styling.
Show Grid - draw the background world grid.
Show Axes - draw the X and Y axes through the origin.
Show Dimensions - draw dimension annotations.
Show Point Labels - draw the name beside each point (on by default).
Show Rulers - measurement rulers along the top and left edges.
Show Guides - non-printing reference lines dragged out from the rulers.
Lock Guides - guides cannot be dragged; they stay selectable, and new guides come out locked too.
Alignment Snaps - dotted snap lines that line the cursor up with points already on the canvas.
View Seams - highlight every segment marked as a seam.
Show Region Direction - chevrons along each region boundary showing which way it winds; a three-state toggle, off / selected / all.
Show Curve Direction - chevrons along each curve pointing the way it runs; a three-state toggle, off / selected / all.
Command Descriptions - show or hide the one-line description under each palette row. Reached from the command palette rather than from this menu; the app lists it as Settings: Command Descriptions.
Note
Most of these are plain on/off switches. Show Region Direction and Show Curve Direction are not: each cycles through three states, off then selected then all. One marker in the menu says which you are in, with no tick for off, a dimmed tick for selected and a solid tick for all.
Note
The model window's grid options live here too - the lattice choice and grid snapping are set from the View menu.
