Mussels are a food item obtained from blackstone rock hides and river stone rock hides, and the mussel box, and is part of several diets to feed tamed animals.
When a blackstone rock hide is mined, there is a 10% chance for a single mussels item to drop instead of the rock hide block. When mined with a Fortune-enchanted tool, this chance increases to 16% at Fortune I, 25% at Fortune II, and 100% at Fortune III. Rock hides mined with Silk Touch never produces mussels.

Mussels can be used to breed tamed Flamingos, and ambient Gramma and Cod. Mussels will also make their babies grow up faster by 10% of the remaining time.
