cronstable™ wiki

cronstable is an asyncio-based job scheduler for Linux, macOS, and Windows. Define jobs in YAML or load classic Vixie crontabs. It supports failure notifications, retries with exponential backoff, statsd and Prometheus metrics, and an optional HTTP control API with a web dashboard to monitor and control jobs.

An optional durable state store preserves run history across restarts and enables missed-run catch-up, job state, and DAG workflows. The MCP server lets AI agents inspect the daemon and, with control enabled, act on jobs and DAGs.

When one instance is not enough, opt-in clustering and leader election coordinates which replicas run scheduled jobs. Choose mTLS gossip or a lease backed by Kubernetes, etcd, or a shared filesystem. Execution guarantees depend on the backend and each job's cluster policy.

The daemon runs in the foreground, logs to stdout/stderr, and supports arbitrary time zones, which suits Docker, Kubernetes, and 12-factor deployments.

cronstable is a fork of gjcarneiro/yacron (by Gustavo Carneiro), continuing development from version 0.19.
