Were you looking for .Sprite (materials.txt) or sprites.png?

##Overview

The Type setting indicates what the player will get when they complete the research task.

##Syntax

    Sprite <spriteId>

Where <spriteId> is the id of a sprite that's defined in objects.spritebank. The post-it note on the chalkboard will be larger to accommodate the sprite.

If the setting is omitted, or invalid, a much smaller text-only post-it note will be placed on the chalkboard.

##Notes

It's not currently possible to use sprites.png for research task images.
