Search Inpatient Direct Issues by Item

Overview

The Search Inpatient Direct Issues by Item page allows you to find individual items issued by pharmacy to inpatient admissions (BHTs). Unlike the bill-level search, this page shows each issued item as a separate row, making it easier to track specific medicines across multiple issue bills.

When to Use

Use this page when you need to:

  • Find all issues of a specific medicine across multiple bills and patients
  • Track individual item movements from pharmacy to wards
  • Audit stock dispensing for a particular pharmaceutical item
  • Count how much of a specific drug was issued over a time period

How to Search

  1. From the main menu, go to Inpatient → Pharmacy → Search Inpatient Direct Issues by Item
  2. Apply one or more filters:
Filter Description
From / To Date Filter items issued within a date range
Bill No Search by a specific issue bill number
BHT No Search items issued to a specific admission
Patient Name Search by the patient's name (partial match supported)
Patient Phone Search by the patient's phone number
Item Name Search by the name of the issued medicine or consumable — this is the key filter for item-level tracking
Net Total Filter by the net total value
  1. Click Search Items to search at the item level
  2. Results appear in a table with one row per issued item

Understanding Results

Each row shows:

  • Item Name — the issued medicine or consumable
  • Quantity — how much was issued
  • Batch No — the stock batch from which the item was dispensed
  • Bill No — the parent issue bill
  • BHT No — the linked admission
  • Patient Name — the patient
  • Date — when the item was issued

Cancelled items are displayed in red.
