The Home Screen
When you open a profile it lands on the Home screen. This is the hub for that profile: a quick look at what it is, the controls to start and stop the game, and all of its saves in one place.
Profile at a glance
The top of the screen shows the profile's key details:
- The ROM it uses.
- When it was last played.
- When it was created.
- Its current window mode.
The title bar carries the play controls (Play, Stop, Reset, and Pause) so you can start or stop the game from anywhere in the profile.
Saves
The Home screen gathers every kind of save the profile has.
Hero save
The most recent named save, shown on its own card with its screenshot, so "continue where I left off" is one click away.
Quick saves
Twelve quick save slots, also called save states. Each is a full snapshot you can drop and restore in an instant, with a screenshot and a timestamp, plus buttons to save (while the game runs) and load. See Save States for how saving and loading work.
Named saves
Manual saves you give a name, so milestone points are easy to find later. While the game runs you can create a new one, and you can rename, overwrite, load, or delete it. A named save won't be overwritten by the quick-save shortcut.
Auto-saves
Snapshots the game takes for you, each tagged with what triggered it, such as a timed interval or a room change. You load or delete them like any other save. Auto-save is configured in Gameplay Settings.
Play sessions
A record of the profile's play sessions, with how long each ran and when.
Settings
The rest of the profile page is its settings, grouped into tabs: Display, Visual Enhancements, Audio & MSU, Gameplay, HUD, Controls, and Haptics. Every setting is saved with the profile.
