Gameplay Settings
The Gameplay tab gathers the original PC-port toggles alongside this app's own additions. Everything here is saved per profile, so different profiles can play very differently.
Auto-Save
- Enable Auto-Save: a toggle (default off). When on, the game periodically snapshots a save state while you play.
- Auto-Save Interval: a slider from 60 to 1800 seconds (default 300, available when auto-save is on). It sets how often a snapshot is taken.
- Max Auto-Save Entries: a slider from 1 to 20 (default 5, available when auto-save is on). It sets how many auto-saves to keep, and the oldest are pruned once the limit is reached.
- Save on Quit: a toggle (default on). When on, the game snapshots a save state when you stop playing or close the app.
Quick Save States
- Enhanced Save Slot Shortcut: a toggle (default on). When on, the save shortcut opens the slot menu instead of saving or loading right away.
- Hold to Save Duration: a slider from 1 to 5 seconds in 0.5 steps (default 2, available when the enhanced shortcut is on). It sets how long you hold the key to save.
Turbo
- Turbo: a toggle (default off). When on, holding the Turbo shortcut runs the game faster than normal. Bind the shortcut under Input & Controllers. Music keeps its own tempo; everything else moves at the chosen speed.
- Turbo Speed: a slider from 1.25x to 10x (default 2x, available when Turbo is on). It sets how much faster the game runs while the shortcut is held.
Items
- Advanced Item Selection: a toggle (default off). When on, you cycle through equipped items with the L and R shoulder buttons.
- Limit to First 4 Items: a toggle (default off, available when advanced selection is on). When on, cycling is restricted to the first four item slots.
Movement
- Turn While Dashing: a toggle (default off). When on, you can change direction during a Pegasus Boots dash.
- Mirror to Dark World: a toggle (default off). When on, the Magic Mirror can warp you from the Light World to the Dark World.
- Cancel Bird Travel: a toggle (default off). When on, you can press X to cancel a duck flight that is in progress.
Combat
- Collect Items with Sword: a toggle (default off). When on, a sword slash picks up hearts, rupees, and items.
- Break Pots with Sword: a toggle (default off). When on, level 2 and higher swords break pots with a slash.
- More Active Bombs: a toggle (default off). When on, you can have up to 4 active bombs at once instead of 2.
Dialog
These settings change how message text plays, and they apply with the original HUD and the enhanced one alike.
Pacing
- Text Speed: a slider from half the game's own pacing up to Instant, in steps of 0.5x, 0.75x, Original, 1.5x, 2x, 2.5x, 3x and 4x (default Original). It sets how fast text, pauses and scrolling play out. The two stops below Original only slow lines that type letter by letter.
- Hold A to Accelerate: a toggle (default on) with its own speed slider from 1.5x to 4x (default 2x). While A is held, dialog plays at that speed.
- B Completes the Box: a toggle (default on). When on, one press of B writes the rest of the current box, and the next press advances it.
- Type Letter by Letter: a toggle (default on). The game shows most lines all at once; when on, those lines type out one letter at a time, at the rate Text Speed sets. A press of B still writes the box at once.
Skipping
- Auto-Skip Dialog: a toggle (default off). When on, text appears at once and message boxes dismiss themselves, item-get text included. Yes/no and shop prompts still wait for your answer.
- Disable Telepathic Messages: a toggle (default off). When on, Zelda's telepathic messages during the rain walk to the castle are suppressed.
Quality of Life
- Disable Low Heart Beep: a toggle (default off). When on, the low-health warning beep is silenced.
- Skip Intro on Keypress: a toggle (default off). When on, pressing any key skips the intro and title sequence.
- Indicate Max Resources: a toggle (default off). When on, rupees, bombs, and arrows turn yellow once they reach their maximum.
- Larger Wallet: a toggle (default off). When on, the rupee cap rises from 999 to 9999.
Bug Fixes
- Miscellaneous Minor Fixes: a toggle (default off). When on, it applies small corrections to original glitches in follower behavior, music transitions, death counting, and tile rendering.
- Gameplay-altering bug fixes: a toggle (default off). When on, it applies fixes that visibly change play, including enemy patterns, chest drops, and boss mechanics.
