   Input nodes

The Input category of the node palette.

A node graph. On the left, three source nodes stacked top to bottom: a Slider named Radius (handle at 60) with a number output, a Toggle switched on (true) with a boolean output, and a Button with a press control and a trigger output. The Slider's number wire feeds the Radius input of a Circle: Center Radius node; the Circle's region output feeds Rotate's Geometry; the Toggle's boolean wire feeds Rotate's Add OG input; Rotate's output feeds a Preview and a Crossing Census; the Button's trigger wire feeds Crossing Census's Calculate input.

Input nodes are where values enter a node graph. Each produces one kind of value - a Slider or Number gives a number, a Toggle gives a true/false, a Button gives a trigger - which you wire into a matching input downstream. Above: a Slider drives a circle's radius, a Toggle flips Rotate's Add OG, and a Button fires Crossing Census's Calculate.

Add these from Input in the node menu. Each links to its own page.

Slider - a number source you can plug into many inputs.

Number - a number constant; click its value to type a new one.

Random - a seeded random number, the random cousin of Slider.

Toggle - a true/false source; wire it into a boolean input like Add OG.

Text - a text-string source; double-click to type. Feeds string inputs like Select by Pattern's Pattern.

Color - an RGBA color source; outputs the color as a vector.

Button - emits a pulse when pressed; wire it into a trigger input to run that node.
