An axis-aligned rectangle from two opposite corners.
Category: Primitives | Add menu: Primitives > Rectangle: XY-Aligned
Two diagonally opposite corners define an upright rectangle whose sides run along X and Y - the corners set its width and height, and it never tilts. It pairs the two corner lists index-for-index, one rectangle per pair. For a rectangle that can sit at any angle, use Rectangle: Directed.
- Corner (point): one corner.
- Opposite (point): the diagonally opposite corner.
- Region (region): one rectangle per pair of corners.
- Edges (curve): its sides, as separate curves, grouped per shape.
- Points (point): its corners, grouped the same way.
The three are views of the same shape, so build on whichever suits. For what the shape was built from, rather than what it is, use Explode.
The everyday rectangle: two corners, sides square to the axes. Most useful as a frame or a boundary, something to trim a pattern against with Intersect, or a tile to repeat.
Because the corners are point sockets, the rectangle can be driven by the drawing rather than typed. Wire two points measured off your construction and it resizes with them.

- In the modeling view: Rectangle: XY-Aligned - draw the same rectangle directly on the canvas.
