Clusters

Cluster icon   Auto Mirror (library cluster)

Geometry in, a flush 2 x 2 mirrored block out - the mirror axes come from the geometry's own edges.

Auto Mirror cluster node: a Geometry input and a Block output

Category: Cluster | Add menu: Cluster > Library > Auto Mirror, or search for Library: Auto Mirror

Drop in a motif and Auto Mirror reflects it across its own right edge, then reflects that pair across its top edge, and hands back all four copies as one block. Because the axes are the edges of the motif's bounding box, the copies sit exactly flush - no gap, no overlap - whatever the motif's size or shape. It is the quickest way to turn a quarter-tile into a full symmetric tile.

Inputs

  • Geometry (any): the motif to mirror. Points, curves, regions or a mix; everything wired in is treated as one shape.

Outputs

  • Block (any): the four copies - original, mirrored right, and both mirrored up - as a single group.

How it is built

Double-click the cluster to see it: a Bounding Box node measures the input, one Mirror reflects across the box's Right edge (keeping the original), a second Mirror reflects that pair across the box's Top edge, and a Collect joins the two pairs. There is nothing hidden - it is the same construction you would wire by hand, saved so you don't have to.

Tip

Make it yours Because it is a library cluster, you can drop it in, double-click to edit, and save your own variant - say, one that mirrors across the Left and Bottom edges instead, or adds a half-turn. See Working with clusters.
