Select Starting Names

The Select Starting Names window is displayed during the auto assign operation when this setting is switched on the Auto Assign Settings window.

Overview

This window is only displayed during the Auto Assign operation when the Select Starting Names option is switched on in the settings. It is split into two panels.

There are two reasons for using this feature:

  1. It enables you to continue populating the schedule relative to the last schedule.
  2. It can assist in avoid conflicts of assignment.

Note IconThe tool will automatically select a random name from the dropdown list when this option is switched off.

Left Panel

Assignment All assignments that have the Auto Assign option switched on in the settings will be displayed in this list. Note IconThey are listed in order of priority.
Starting Name Use the dropdown list to select the starting name for that assignment on the schedule. Note IconYou can also use the right-panel to select the name to use.

Right Panel

Date This displays the last date that each publisher had the specified assignment. The Weeks to include mode on the settings window determines what the cut-off date is: All weeks — The cut off date is the first meeting on the schedule (that is not a Referenced Schedule week). All weeks and Referenced Schedule weeks — The cut-off date is the first week on the schedule. Select week — The cut off date is the selected week.
Name This displays the name of the publisher who had the specified assignment on that date. Note IconSelecting this name in the history list will automatically set them as the Starting Name for the specified assignment.
Lookup Click the Lookup button to display all available history the publisher has for the specified assignment. This includes: All previous dates. All future dates (within the Meeting Editor). All future dates (held in the database, beyond the schedule date range). Note IconLearn more about the Lookup window here.
