Craft one at a 3×3 Workbench from three iron ingots in the shaped recipe below.

Select the Wrench in your hotbar and right-click (or Shift + right-click) the pipe end touching a compatible machine or chest. Each click cycles Input (blue) → Output (red) → No connection → Input. No connection removes the arm and blocks transfers at that end; wrench-click the same pipe side to reconnect. Arrows appear only while the Wrench is selected in your hand. The wrench is not consumed. Empty hands, other selected items and Interact cannot change direction. Pipe centres, pipe-to-pipe links and electrical cables have no direction to switch. See Pipes for complete examples.
