Overview
The Roman Republic (not to be confused with Holy Roman Empire and Roman Empire) was a nation created as a result of the Italian Civil War. It was ruled by Empress Malyesa, serving as the nations head, and Emperor Soverhs as CoKing, who helped with the country and day to day decisions. Under them are the Pope and the Senate who also helped propose ideas and religious opinions for the nation. Its capital was Rome.
History
Italia was created on February 19, 2020 by Malyesa. Shortly after creation, it became the #2 nation due to membership of Prague and Cyrenacia, as well as multiple small towns. It peaked at 270 people. Past CoKings have included Doggerland, __Jesuss__, k0rnel, linux_virus, Naltz113, and Loxures.
April 12th
On April 12th, Doggerland's Prague and Malyesa's Rome decided to join a rival nation - the Ottoman Empire. Malyesa decided to disband Italia and merge it with the Ottomans. This idea angered many citizens, who decided to revolt, marking the beginning of the Italian Civil War.
In an effort to prevent merging, Emperor Soverhs, Pope k0rnel and ILagWithShaders performed a coup d'etat, which set Soverhs as head of Italia and k0rnel and ILag as CoKings. They overthrew the Italian throne and threw Rome and Prague out of the nation. The decision hurt the nation, as its population fell from 260 people to 80. After the Ottomans fell, Malyesa returned to Italia, Soverhs knew that the strategic capital of Rome would allow for more towns, so he relinquished sis power as Head of State in place for Malyesa, although Prague never returned to the nation.
April 14th
With Malyesa as Empress and Rome as the capital, the country of Italia decided to rename itself as the "Roman Republic". Recovering from the past Italian Civil War, the new republic faced many obstacles, including the need to regrow the nation back to its former glory.
