Short Description
This is the default controller for the RCCar. Of course you are free to create your own controller (iOS, webpage, etc) but this controller is the default! If for any case you created a different kind of controller let me know about it and I am going to mention it (I prefer open source applications) as an alternative controller.
Requirements
The requirements of the device are:
- Display size > 5.5-inch. You can try it with a smaller display but I am not sure if you will enjoy it.
- Android version 4.3.1 and above
Run
Download it from Google Play, or download this repository and compile it and you are ready to go!
Engine Control
Controlling the engine is nothing more than a handshake and a goodbye between the client and the server. They exchange some information for their communication. For more information continue reading here.
Steering Control
The steering wheel control is nothing more than changing the steering angle using a SeekBar. It has some different functionality than usual but the main idea is the same. For more information continue reading here.
Transmission Control
The transmission control has to do about throttle, brake, reverse and cruise control. Any car should have the following features and you guessed right. This car has all these features too! Actually what kind of car is a vehicle which cannot throttle or stop itself?! Keep reading here in order to find out how these extreme (and unique!!!) features work from the perspective of the driver!
Safety
An object that moves around with high speeds is a danger for everyone and for everything. Even for itself. Sometimes the car itself takes decisions but most of the time the driver must do the driving. That's why the user must be informed about safety concerns. Keep reading here to find out what kind of safety concerns the user could take responsibility for.
Electrics Control
Last but not least are the electrics. The car supports electrics so the controller should support main electrics controls such as turn lights and emergency lights. Keep reading here to find out more.
FAQ
Here you can find answers in questions that I had received a lot. I hope to receive more questions to add to this section.
