What is this document?

This document serves as a structured guide for defining and communicating the core gameplay mechanics and systems in Bewitched.
It ensures that every team member understands how each mechanic works, why it exists, and how it interacts with the broader gameplay experience.

Core Mechanics and Systems

Template

Gameplay Loops

  • Dual 1st Loop
    • Exit enemy body/witch is vulnerable -> find space to avoid enemies -> run
    • Identify a target -> possess it -> use it for damage -> find opening to hop into another target to extend damage dealing -> repeat
  • Enter a room -> possess and kill enemies -> exit room -> repeat
  • Enter new level -> Find new evocations through killing enemies -> Acquire new synergies by finding more evocations -> Repeat
