Ability Points (AP) - xopherdeep/do-it-for-the-xp GitHub Wiki
Ability Points (AP) are a specialized currency within the XP App that allow users to unlock and upgrade special abilities for their characters, enhancing their capabilities and providing unique advantages.
- Earning AP: You gain AP by completing tasks, achievements, and other activities
- AP Thresholds: Some abilities have AP requirements that must be maintained
- AP Periods: AP may be tracked over specific time periods (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or total)
- Permanent Points: Total AP accumulates over time and represents your character's skill development
- Master Difficult Tasks: Challenging achievements often award AP
- Complete Skill-Building Activities: Tasks that develop real-world skills grant AP
- Level Milestones: Reaching certain character levels provides AP bonuses
- Temple Training: Completing training at temples can award AP
AP can be spent to:
- Unlock New Abilities: Gain access to abilities based on your Job Classes
- Upgrade Existing Abilities: Make your abilities more powerful or efficient
- Learn Cross-Class Skills: At higher levels, acquire abilities from other job classes
- Reset Skill Trees: Reallocate your AP if you want to try different ability combinations
These two resources work together but serve different functions:
- AP (Ability Points): Used to unlock and upgrade abilities in your skill tree
- Magic Points (MP): The resource that is actually consumed when casting abilities
Different job classes use AP differently:
- Mages: Focus on powerful magical abilities that cost more MP
- Warriors: Emphasize physical task completion and endurance bonuses
- Healers: Specialize in abilities that restore HP and provide family support
