Heating Stones - unforbidable/tfcplus-bids GitHub Wiki

Description

Heating stones are special dense, fine grained pieces of rocks that can be used to transfer heat away from a firepit.

Recipe

Heating stones can be dropped by chance while mining gravel blocks, much like Flint, however only in areas with higher elevation. Heating stones never drop from gravel blocks found at Gravel Beaches, Lakes and River beds, basically anywhere near the sea level.

Heating Stones drop at an increased rate when mining gravel blocks of the following rock types:

  • Quartzite
  • Basalt
  • Andesite
  • Gabbro
  • Dacite
  • Diorite
  • Granite
  • Gneiss

Damp heating stones need to be cured in the sun to make sure there is no moisture left inside. Place Heating Stones on a Drying Surface and allow them to cure for several hours.

There is a chance to mine a heating stone that is already dry in high elevation.

Usage

Heating stones can be heated in a firepit becoming Glowing Hot Stones. Glowing Hot Stones can be dropped into a Cooking Pit to boil the contained fluid.

Glowing hot stones cool down over time and they can be dropped in the water to cool them down instantly.

Notes

  • It will be possible to use glowing hot stones creating a temporary, mobile source of heat, possibly involving a closed iron pan.
  • It will be possible to create a steamy air by dropping water on top of glowing hot stones, likely involving a sauna.
