Description
Firepit is a replacement block for the classic TFC firepit with additional functionality.
Construction
Firepit construction requires Kindling, and two loose rocks. You can craft a basic Straw Kindling from sticks and straw.
Drop two loose rocks on the ground where you want your firepit to be and then right click the top of the block while holding Kindling in your hand.
A firepit is unlit when placed.
Starting fire
To start a fire you need a fire starter and some kind of kindling in the very bottom fuel slot. When you have just created a firepit, the kindling you used to create the firepit is now in this slot. When relighting a firepit that has gone off, more kindling will be needed.
Loose sticks, TFC bundles of sticks, Small Bundle of Sticks or Tied Bundle of Sticks can be used as kindling, but it will be less effective than a Kindling with tinder.
Right click the firepit while holding a fire started to start the fire. The rate of success depends on the kindling material and the kind of fire starter used.
Fuel
Firepit accepts additional material as fuel compared to a classic TFC firepit.
- Seasoned Firewood
- Small Bundle of Sticks and Tied Bundle of Sticks
- Charcoal, which burns at a lower temperature than it does in a forge, but it also lasts longer than it does in a forge (optional)
- The damaged fire starter that you have no use for at the moment
Usage
By default, the new Firepit offers only limited use. It will provide cold protection, allow you to cook food directly in it, smoke food and bees, and probably few other things.
TFC Compatibility
If you enjoy the new Firepit and you want to use it in place of the classic TFC firepit, there is an option that allows TFC to recognize it as a valid firepit. However, this will in turn cause existing TFC firepits to stop working. This mod will not replace existing TFC firepits already placed in the world. You can change your mind and revert the setting anytime without consequences.
When enabled, creating a firepit the classic way, by using a fire starter and sticks dropped on the ground, creates the new firepit as well, and it will be lit.

Notes
- Firepit can accept fuel and kindling from other mods, however one of the predefined taste profiles needs to be used.
- By default, TFC logs and chopped logs are not a valid fuel for the new Firepit, although this can be changed in the configuration.
Future Features
- Firepit will be used as part of Wood Stove multi block, extending the fuel capacity and allowing fuel automation.
