Description

Bark Fiber is extracted from the inner bark of some trees.

Recipe

Soak the Bark of White Cedar, White Elm or Willow in a sealed barrel or large vessel for 8 hours to acquire Bark Fiber. A barrel full of fresh water can process up to 16 pieces of bark.

Then separate the Bark Fibers by crafting them together with a knife to create 4 Bark Fiber Strips.

Usage

Bark Fiber Strips can already be used as tying equipment, such as tying Bundles of Sticks and making splints.

Before Bark Fiber Strips can be used to make cordage and rope, they need to be cured first.

Curing

Use the Drying Rack to cure the Bark Fiber Strips. The curing process takes 12 hours.

Cured Bark Fiber Strips can be used to craft a piece of cordage, or to make Bark Fiber Kindling.

Making cordage

Right click the ground while holding at least 5 Cured Bark Fiber Strips in your hand to open the Bark Fiber knapping GUI. Follow the pattern that is used for making bandages and straw cordage to create one piece of Bark Cordage.

Making rope

Combine 4 pieces of Bark Cordage in your crafting grid to make a Rope.

Notes

• It takes the grand total of 5 pieces of Bark Fiber to create one piece rope, the same amount it takes to make rope from other fibers, except the process is more involved.
