/config spam settings
Example:
/config spam settings
- Chatot: Manage Messages, Timeout- | Ban- | Kick Members (depending on selected punishment)
- Users: Ban Members
Summary: Configures Chatot's response to spam messages.
This command allows you to configure Chatot's actions when it detects spam. Spam is considered against 2 criteria, depending on your setup:
- Running this command alone considers spam as messages with the same content being posted in 3+ channels in rapid succession (< 10 seconds). Forwarding a message will set off this system if these criteria are met.
- If you setup a honeypot, message tracking is disabled and only posts in your designated channel will be considered spam, Chatot's behavior determined by these settings.
Running this command presents the user with a modal, which contains multiple fields:
-
Punishment- The punishment to give to the offending member when they spam. Options are ban, kick, timeout (1 hour), or none. -
Delete Messages?- Whether Chatot should delete the offending messages automatically. ChoosingYesandBanas your punishment will delete the user's messages within the last 5 minutes. -
Immune Roles- Members who have the selected roles will be ignored by the spam system (i.e. staff roles). Chatot is self-immune. -
Alert Channel- When spam is detected, Chatot will send an alert with the message content to the selected channel. This alert is designed to contain minimal info for space concerns, so additional info, like attachments, are handled by the normal logging functionality in your normal logging channel. -
Alert Roles- When spam is detected, ping these roles within theAlert Channel.
Remember that any automated system is best effort. It's always a good idea to double check that your desired outcome has occurred.
The spam system can be completely disabled by running /config spam disableall.
