Availability: All Guilds
/config spam honeypot <channel>
Example:
/config spam honeypot channel:12345
- Chatot: Manage Messages, Timeout- | Ban- | Kick Members (depending on selected punishment)
- Users: Ban Members
Summary: Enables a specific channel to watch for spam.
This command designates a text channel within your server as a "honeypot" for spam bots. Any message posted to this channel will be considered spam, and dealt with according to your settings. If Chatot is already monitoring for spam content in your server by tracking messages, the message tracking will be disabled in favor of monitoring your channel for posts.
If this is your first time setting up the spam system, Chatot will present you with a modal to set your desired settings for how Chatot deals with spam. See /config spam settings for a description of those settings. Subsequent runs of this command will allow you to update your honeypot channel, should it ever need to change. Updating Chatot's behavior (how to punish, who is immune, etc) is done with the /config spam settings command. If you ever wish to remove the honeypot channel and track messages instead, run /config spam disablehoneypot. All of your other settings will remain intact.
Note that if you choose to delete messages, only the messages within your honeypot channel will be deleted. Any other messages from the user will remain intact. The sole exception to this is if you also ban the user, in which case Chatot will purge the user's posts from the last 5 minutes.
Remember that any automated system is best effort. It's always a good idea to double check that your desired outcome has occurred.
The spam system can be completely disabled by running /config spam disableall.
