So the idea of a vineyard in Atherton may seem ridiculous to many, but to Ann Ramsay, whose family have owned the property since the 1920s, it's part of the family. In 1994 she planted a 2.5 acre vineyard growing Pinot Noir. The wine is made in very small quantities but is surprisingly inexpensive - if you can find it, it retails from around $12 to $20, rising to $35-$40 in restaurants.
