History
Note: This is the property formerly owned by Armitage Wines, which retired in 2025.
Original 200-acre Heart O' The Mountain estate established 1881 by Pierre and Bruce Cornwall, who produced wine under Santa Sada label.
1940: Director Alfred Hitchcock purchased estate for $40,000, lived there until 1972. 1974: Sold. 1978: Purchased by Brassfield family.
2000: Following Bob Brassfield's retirement, family replanted vineyards and opened winery. 2008: First vintage of estate Pinot Noir released.
Family connections: Bob was investor in nearby Felton Empire winery (now Hallcrest). Youngest son Dustin owns Brassfield winery in Lake County.
